The turnout was great for our First Annual Knit in Public Day! Even the weather cooperated, with mid-70's and a gentle breeze.

Knitters began gathering at the corner alcove around 11:00, and the last chairs were packed up just before 5.

At 2:00, it was time to party.

We started by drawing names for our raffle. One of the 2nd Prize winners had come to knit for the day. Maureen is a Master Spinner and a great knitter.
She opened a beautiful ball of Noro Silver Thaw to a chorus of "Oooh"s.

Time for cake!

Happy 40th birthday, Stephanie! Though we couldn't make it to Toronto for the occasion, cake was eaten and yarn was petted with you in mind!
(By the way, cupcake cake is a great way to do cake in an outside setting! NO knives and few crumbs!)
Once the eating was over, goody bags were passed out to every knitter present.

A ball of Needful Yarns Kim, and a free pattern were our little "Thank You" for coming and making WWKIP Day a great time.
